I run a busy teaching practice from my home in Barlborough, situated a couple of minutes from Junction 30 of the M1. I tailor lessons for each individuals needs and teach all age ranges and abilities. I’m a very experienced tutor (I’ve been teaching privately for 6 years now) and I will happily generate a positive learning experience for beginners right through to Diploma level. I’m a very keen composer, I regularly create new music for my students to build technique while enjoying themselves. I love music and enjoy teaching anything from classical music to Jazz. I particularly enjoys improvising with my students.
I enter many students for practical and theoretical exams, I also accompany my own students for practical exams. I fell that exams are a nice way to structure learning but are by no means essential and playing for fun is equally as beneficial.
I enjoy performing regularly, I’m a founder member of The Equinox Saxophone Ensemblewho are based in Nottingham and I’ve performed in concert on many occasions with the NSWO. I was also Musical Director for the Bolsover Drama Group, Youth Section. This gave me a lot of experience in working with children and arranging show music. I’m currently in the process of recording my first album, which should be available early 2010. This will consist of original works written by myself for Saxophones, Piano, Drums and Synth. Sheet music and mp3’s are available to download from the iStore
